Joe Geiger

Joe Geiger began his theater experience working as theater house & ticket manager, on lighting crews, and on set crews at Xavier University, Cincinnati OH. He acted in multiple supernumeraries roles with the Cincinnati Opera. Joe graduated Xavier University with a BS in Physics. He then attended the U.S. Coast Guard’s Officer Candidate School. After receiving his commission, he served 20-years in both active and reserve assignments. Joe earned his MBA from Northern Kentucky University and then a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. Joe worked in various IT roles (Applications Manager, Project Manager, Business Intelligence Consultant, Data Base Manager, Data Quality Consultant, and Consultant Management). He volunteered as the Theater Technical Director at a Northern KY, High School. He volunteered with Cincinnati’ Aronoff Center, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. After retiring to Akron, Joe served on the Executive Board of Akron Summit Theater (Treasurer). He was a founding board member of Partners for Theater and managed volunteers for the first two Stage Fest events in Highland Square. He has served 3-years on the board of Weathervane Community Theater. Joe is a member of multiple Weathervane committees: Finance, Building and Grounds, and Gala. Besides theater, Joe volunteers as the manager of Medina Senior Net (adult technical training), Executive Board Secretary WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Wars Roundtable (military history preservation), Executive Board, Fairlawn Heights Neighborhood Association, and various roles at St. Hilary School.
