David Bird

Treasurer

David began his theater-related life with Goodyear Community Theater in 1989 where he built sets, painted scenery and drops, and ran carbon-arc follow spots. He joined the GCT board in 1990 and continued his behind-the-scenes activities, even piloting Peter Pan in 1992. Occasionally he found himself on stage when casting directors must have been desperate. Although, playing Jack Chesney in Charlie’s Aunt in 1991 was a huge joy. 2016 found David joining the Board of Trustees at Weathervane. A software engineer by education, and running his own software business, he is most comfortable outdoors, traveling, perhaps hiking in the Alps with family, or being somewhere on the water (in a boat). Lately, he can be found in his backyard Woodshop where he is content for hours at a time building furniture or any other sort of project. The shop is fully powered with “220… 221, whatever it takes.”
