Beginning Acting for Adults
Sundays, September 22nd -November 10th (8 weeks)
This class will explore the theory and practice of the basic tools of acting: body movement, vocal production, and imagination. This class will also include an introduction to character analysis, audition basics, monologue work, scene study, and improvisation.
Mondays, September 23rd- November 11th (8 weeks)
Prerequisite: Beginning Acting for Adults or Equivalent Experience
In this class, we will learn how to break down a script and scene into its component parts in order to create strongly motivated choices that are supported by the text. Students will learn how to create and commit to a story arc, how to activate intentions, how to motivate blocking and business, and how to apply these skills for maximum performance and audition impact.

Period Hairstyles Workshop

$50.00 (included hair kit)
Come learn about Hair Styles from the 1900's! In this hands-on workshop you will work with Jasen Smith, Weathervane's resident costume designer and costume shop manager to focus on setting and styling of period hairstyles. Participants will learn how to prepare a wig for a general roller set, steam the rollers, and style the wig for a Victorian/Edwardian hairstyle. This class is limited to the first 8 teachers, each participant will receive a kit to take home that includes a brush, hairpins, wig stand, and a certificate for your participation. September 24th -November 12th (8 weeks)
$8.00 per class or $50.00 for the 8 class package
Melanie Hauer, Zumba Instructor:
Melanie Hauer is a regular volunteer in the costume shop at Weathervane and has appeared here on stage as well. She has spent so much time in Zumba classes over the years that she decided to become a licensed instructor. The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party!
