Mary Kay Finn
As a former principal dancer and soloist with The Ohio Ballet, Mary Kay Finn is currently completing her 23rd year teaching ballet technique, pointe, jazz, choreography, and ballet enrichment for Dance Institute of The University of Akron. Immediately prior to returning to Dance Institute, Mary Kay was an Associate Professor of Law in the College of Business Administration, a position she accepted after my 17-year tenure as an Assistant Attorney General, executive agency lobbyist, legislative liaison, and administrative law hearings officer in Columbus.
In her first term as a Weathervane Board member, Mary Kay has served as a member and co-chair of the Gala/Fundraising committee, and spearheaded a task force charged with studying the impact of certain BVU recommendations. She also served as a committee member, draftsman, and chair of the Governance Committee, the members of which updated Weathervane’s Bylaws, created Board of Trustee Policies and Procedures, revamped both the Employee Manual and Volunteer Handbook, and prepared Volunteer Policies and Procedures.
