Upcoming Shows

January 14 - 31, 2016

Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play, Clybourne Park examines the "life" of one house over a 50-year span. In Act I, community leaders anxiously try to stop a black family from moving into a house in an all-white neighborhood. In Act II, set 50 years later, we encounter the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

February 4 - 14, 2016

In describing this dark comedy about death, New York magazine put it best: "The Lyons isn't trying to make a case for freshness or formal innovation. It's simply trying tell a funny, furious little tale of family annihilation with honesty, savagery, and humanity, a story about how we all, ultimately, pick out our own urns. It succeeds marvelously."

Volunteer Guild News

From Volunteer Guild President, Wendy Cooley:

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Our annual Barnes and Noble gift wrapping did well. We wrapped five different times and had a lot of fun doing it. We made about $300. Thanks to the volunteers which included Jacquie DeBose, Marci Paolucci, Helen Vari, John Grafton, Nancy Mahoney, Bev Ricks, Meg Hopp, Fran Korman, Susan Baker, Tom Stephan, Frank Castorena, Jill Forster, Bess Raines, Randie Ostroff-Sass, Ralph Cooley and me, Wendy Cooley.

Thanks to everyone who bought 2016 Entertainment books and ordered gift certificates from Honey Baked Ham. These fundraisers help our theater!

Our next Weathervane Volunteer Guild general meeting will be one week earlier in February due to a scheduling conflict.  We will gather for desserts, short meeting and a special program on Wednesday, February 3 at 6:30 p.m. All volunteers are welcome. There is NO January meeting as we always had to cancel because of bad weather though this winter, it will probably be 60 degrees! Our executive board will meet Jan. 27 at Wendy Cooley's house at 6:30 p.m.
